Inspection specialist, not a maintenance company.
Dave Kaplan inspects the stormwater pond / stormwater control (SCM) for HOA boards and community managers, and for small-to-medium businesses that own them — retail, office, medical, light industrial, and apartments — around Lake Norman. The work is third-party on purpose: we complete the town paperwork and a one-page cover. We do not bid the dredging, the mowing, or the algae treatment. When a site needs it, Dave can add drone-assisted inspection documentation — aerial imagery for pond overviews and hard-to-access views — as part of the same inspection, not as a repair or maintenance add-on.
Credential: NC State University SCM Inspection & Maintenance certification, cert #6134, issued July 8, 2026, expires 12/31/2028. Print that number on the report cover so a reviewer can check it.
The captain's hat with North Carolina in the crown, and the KapTin VENTURES LLC wordmark, is the official KapTin Ventures mark. KapTin Inspections is the inspection practice of KapTin Ventures LLC.

Independent inspector

We are not a licensed PE or LA. We do not promise that every town will accept an NCSU-only signature. We do not publish insurance policy numbers. We do not invent a years-in-business story on this site.
